Title: Madri nell'ombra: la Madre-terra e le donne nell'opera di Abraham B. Yehoshua
Authors: Lissa, Anna
Issue Date: 2000
Publisher: Padova, Editoriale Programma
Abstract: This article is about the archetype of the mother-earth. It is interesting to point out how this archetype has been absorbed by modern nationalism, by Zionism too, and how it affects contemporary literature and, above all, contemporary Israeli literature. We can find those two concepts in A. B. Yehoshua works, the mother-earth being 'played' by heroins, and we can see how they slowly fade away leaving the place to a new state of peace of mind and harmony between different communities.
