Abstract: This work describes the constructions that participate of the causative alternation, that constructions formed by valence reduction involving the subject and the formation of the causative constructions of the language kaingang. It has as objective: to approach, from a descriptive point of view, the conjuncts formed with verbs of causative alternation and the formation of the causative constructions; to make possible material of easy access to bilingual teachers of the aboriginal schools in northern Paraná state and to contribute with the description of the language kaingang. For data collecting it uses questionnaires consisting of sentences in Portuguese that present the structures of the analysis object. It has as informing people the bilingual teachers of the Chieftain Luís Penky Pereira School, located in the aboriginal land called Apucaraninha. It points as main results: a) change in the verbal form in the constructions formed with reciprocal and reflective verbs does not occur; b) occurs morphologic causative in the constructions that participate of the causative alternation; c) some examples of lexical causative exist; d) the formed causative constructions of intransitive, monotransitive and ditransitive verbs are examples of analytical causative.
