Abstract: In 1884 Giacomo Zanella sent to H.W. Longfellow's family his transtations of 'Evangeline' and 'Miles Standish', published in 1883 (the american poet was dead in 1882). Samuel Longfellow the poet's brother, wrote him a letter of thanks and sent to him as a gift an Henry Wadsworth's autograph. In this work, the unpublished autograph (it is of four tercet from the Canto XXX of the Dante's Paradiso) is described, with others unpublished writings which regard the Zanella's relations with H.W. Longfellow.
