|Title:||Departures in Tiğānī's Riḥla|
|Publisher:||Padova, Studio Editoriale Gordini|
|Abstract:||Tiğānī's Riḥla is strongly determined by political motives linked to the troubles that shake Ifrīqiyya at the end of the first Hafsid century. It articulates two moments : a historical enterprise and a literary composition. The author, acting as personal secretary of the leader of the expedition - Ibn al-Liḥyānī - rewrites the events in order to soften their erratic aspect, minimizes the set-backs that affected the expedition and finally gives a positive coherence to his master's weak record.|
