The paper describes the syntagmatic cohesion between two typical words in Ḥāfiẓ’ ghazals: ‘wind’ and ‘hair’. First of all a ghazal with a line containing the two words was translated. As a second step, all the other lines contaning the two words in Ḥāfiẓ’ dīvān were collected and translated. On the basis of this data, an analysis was carried out with the aim of understanding and describing the relations between the line of the ghazal in question and all the other lines containing ‘wind’ and ‘hair’.it
