Title: La tradizione giudeo-araba ed ebraica del 'De intellectu' di Alessandro di Afrodisia e il testo originale del 'Commento' di Averroè
Authors: Zonta, Mauro
Issue Date: 2001
Publisher: Padova, Editoriale Programma
Abstract: One of the most important sources of Medieval Arabic and Hebrew philosophical literature was Alexander of Aphrodisias’ "De intellectu". The text of the Arabic original of Averroes’ commentary on this work, although first identified by Georges Vajda in an unpublished 14th-century Judaeo-Arabic work by Yosef Ibn Waqqār, has been completely neglected until now. Here, the Arabic text of such commentary is first published and compared to the extant Hebrew version, already published by Herbert Davidson.
