|Title:||Il manoscritto della Yusufağa Kütüphanesi di Konya: letteratura critica di due odi minori dal Dīwān di ‘Umar Ibn al-Fāriḍ|
|Publisher:||Padova, Editoriale Programma|
|Abstract:||In summer 1993 the Orientalist Father Giuseppe Scattolin found a codex of Ibn al-Fāriḍ's dīwān in the Yusufağa Kütüphanesi Library of Konya. Up to the present time, this manuscript appears to be the oldest known text of Ibn al-Fāriḍ's poems to be dated around 640/1243 and witnesses the state of the dīwān's text as it was known in Ṣadr al-Dīn al-Qūnawī's Sufi circles in Turkey around the middle of the 7th H/13th AD. Being aware of the exceptional importance of this finding, we have carried out a critical edition of two Odes of the dīwān, namely "Iḥfaẓ fu’ādaka" and "Huwa ’l-Ḥubb". In doing that we have collated the Konya manuscript with other edited texts and known codices of the dīwān, among which that of the Chester Beatty Collection edited by Arthur John Arberry in 1952. The similarities and the differences found among them will shed some light on the trasmission of the text during the centuries and will provide the reader with a quite objective picture of the various 'readings' of the original corpus of Ibn al-Fāriḍ's dīwān from its first witness to its latest editions.|
