|Abstract:||The aim of the investigation is revealing the character of the links of Armenian portraiture of the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th cc. with Italian portraiture of the Quattrocento. The link is discovered in portraiture concepts: 1. In iconography. It is the principle of anthropocentrism and the character of plastic accents. 2. In image characterization it is in the conveyance of typical features in connection with the first stage of turning to a model and cognition of l'uomo unico in the wide sense 3. In the function of portraits: in their "picturesqueness", closeness of the composition, concept of space and time, plastic rhythm. Proximity of concepts of different national schools and historical epochs is accounted for by the coincidence of artistic tasks in the transition period from the Middle ages to the new times.|
