Abstract: David Jacob Maroni (Reggio Emilia 1810- Florence 1888) translated into Italian (from the Arabic-French version by S. Munk) Part 1 in full and chapters I-XXI of Part 2 of Mainmonides' Moreh ha-nevukim; he also added to it a large number of explanatory notes. The unfinished translation was published in three volumes: the first two ( containing Part 1 of the Moreh), were printed in Leghorn in 1870-71, while volume 3 was printed in Florence in 1876.
