|Title:||Il movimento per una nuova letteratura di Taiwan: lo sviluppo del "4 maggio" taiwanese, le influenze e le peculiarità|
|Publisher:||Padova, Editoriale Programma|
|Abstract:||This article focuses on the New Literature Movement which arose in Taiwan in 1920, during the Japanese occupation of the island, shortly after the May 4th Movement took place in China. After examining the historical and social milieu in which the Taiwanese cultural movement developed, the article tries to trace out a reconstruction of the first years of the literary movement, referring to the cultural associations and the most innovating articles published on literary magazines, which aroused raging literary debates. Analysing the deep influence exerted on the movement both by China and by Japan, the accent is put on the similarities with the May 4th Movement, but also on the peculiarities of the Taiwanese Movement and the New Taiwanese Literature that was shaping in those years.|
