|Title:||Le fonti della Ṭarīqa Tijāniyya|
|Publisher:||Padova, Editoriale Programma|
|Abstract:||Even if the Ṭarīqa Tijāniyya is one of the most widesperad Sufi orders in the Islamic world, little attention has been given to its written sources; this study is therefore concerned in examining the main Tijānī texts which have been printed so far. These are divided in two parts, the first dealing with the records of intimate companions of Shaykh Tijānī himself, the second introducing the following literary development; what seems to be the established goal of both categories is to emphasize the role of the founder of the order, seen as the Seal of Saints, and to explain to the disciples the regulations of the Ṭarīqa, underlining its orthodoxy within the Islamic law.|
