|Title:||Un problema di critica testuale nel "Foshuo zhuan falun jing" (T 109) attribuito ad An Shigao|
|Publisher:||Paodva, Editoriale Programma|
|Abstract:||This article deals with a difficult passage in the "Foshuo zhuan falun jing", an early Chinese translation (doubtfully attributed to the Han dynasty translator An Shigao) of the "Dharmacakrapravartanasūtra".This translation exposes the doctrine of the Middle Way and the two extremes in a way that is partially divergent from other versions of the sūtra. The author tries to demonstrate that the text is corrupt, and, accordingly, proposes an emendation. A parallel in Dunhuang literature is also mentioned. The article is followed by an appendix containing six different versions of the passage on the Middle Way, from Pāli and Chinese sources|
