| Abstract: | In this paper I will deal in particular with the Italian adverb ancora, which shows interesting properties because of the multiplicity of contexts in which it can be used. I will discuss its main readings in order to see whether it is possible to reduce this multiplicity of values to a general, basic, abstract meaning. Then I will extend the generalization obtained for ancora to other adverbs in order to identify a group of adverbs sharing the same properties. |
